چکیده
This study was conducted to determine the effect on growth performance and intestinal histomorphology of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed diets including black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) prepupae meal (HI) mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) larvae (TM) used instead fish meal. Six with HI TM at three inclusion levels (10%, 20% 30%) a control diet based were prepared. Test encoded as control, HI10, HI20, HI30, TM10, TM20 TM30. Fish (average initial weight 34.17±0.88 g) randomly placed (30 for each) in 500 L fibreglass tanks. Each seven treatments tested triplicated by hand level 2.5% body times day 90 days. Results demonstrated that significantly affected substitution (p<0.05). had negative performance, but not villi length. In addition, width decreased containing 10% or The TM. 30% variables, length increased. results suggest (10%) can be included without adversely affecting performance. Future studies should expanded using highly defatted meals.

Effects of Substitution of Fish Meal with Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) Larvae Meal, in Yellow Catfish
An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate effects of replacing fish meal (FM) with black soldier fly larvae meal (BSF) on growth performance, feed utilization, and plasma parameters, for juvenile yellow catfish, Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. Six isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were prepared substituting the FM protein with BSF protein in the following amounts: 0 (control group), 10% (BSF...
متن کاملRecovery and techno-functionality of flours and proteins from two edible insect species: Meal worm (Tenebrio molitor) and black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae
Depending on the species, edible insects are highly nutritious and thus represent a noteworthy alternative food and feed source. The current work investigates the protein extractability and techno-functionality of insect flour fractions recovered from Tenebrio molitor and Hermetia illucens. T. molitor and H. illucens flours contained about 20% crude fat and 60% and 36 % crude protein, respectiv...
متن کاملFly Prepupae as a Feedstuff for Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss
Fly larvae may provide an effective method to mitigate two large and growing global concerns: the use of fish meal derived from capture fisheries in aquaculture diets and manure management in livestock and poultry facilities. A 9-wk feed trial was conducted to determine whether fly larvae could be used as a partial fish meal and fish oil replacement in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, diets....
متن کاملAflatoxin B1 Tolerance and Accumulation in Black Soldier Fly Larvae (Hermetia illucens) and Yellow Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor)
Crops contaminated with fungal mycotoxins such as aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) are often downgraded or removed from the food chain. This study aimed to evaluate the tolerance and accumulation of AFB1 in two insect species to determine whether they could be used to retain condemned mycotoxin contaminated crops in the food chain. First, instar black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens, BSF) and yellow m...
متن کاملIntra-Puparial Development of the Black Soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens
The intra-puparial development of the black soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens (L.) (Diptera: Stratiomyidae), was studied based on 125 pupae under controlled conditions in laboratory. The 6(th) instar larvae were reared until they stopped feeding, and the prepupae were separated according to the reduction in larval length and degree of pigmentation and sclerotization of the cuticle. The pupal stage...
